Melamine building sound absorbing and insulating board is an excellent material for creating sound-absorbing and insulating boards for walls, ceilings, and floors.
With exceptional secondary processing capabilities, these panels can be applied in various forms for acoustic treatment in venues such as hotels, schools, hospitals, sports arenas, and auditoriums, as well as for noise reduction in factory equipment and air conditioning ducts.
Design Considerations
1. Sound Absorption Performance
- Best for mid-to-high frequencies (500Hz–4000Hz)
- For low-frequency absorption, combine with: Air gaps behind the panel (50–100mm) & Additional mass (e.g., MLV, gypsum board)
2. Thermal Insulation Properties
- Thermal Conductivity (λ): ~0.035 W/m·K (similar to fiberglass)
- Effective for HVAC insulation, exterior walls, and roofs
3. Fire & Safety Compliance
- Check local building codes (Euroclass B-s1,d0, ASTM E84)
- Some melamine foams are halogen-free and low-smoke
